“The Judge Is On Trial”
Honesty is key.
I judge the Hell out of people.
That's how I give them the benefit of the doubt.
Because I know humanity is flawed,
and with that expectation,
I give grace.
But with that view
from my high horse,
I find that the angle is screwed and skewed.
My own eyes avoid the mirror
because the creature in it is far from human,
what lies in my line of sight is far worse.
Like a demon of light,
like a devil.
“Who am I to judge others?”
I ask with an eye squinted,
aimed,
at a persona maimed.
My ego is the death of me so I kill it everyday.
Maybe I am a narcissist,
in love with my own image
of melancholy.
I'll drown myself if it means I save what the water gives me,
because being alone was not meant for man,
and I long to be one of them.
