The Straw That Broke
Not sure why it became a necessity,
To put so much weight on only me.
Carrying it all with barely a complaint.
Led to padded rooms and those "hug me" restraints.
Yet still, perseverance ,
Working through with little adherence,
To the long and painful road,
And no one willing to help shoulder this load.
Back breaking in nature,
Always feeling endangered.
Still moving forward, but slowly.
Knees buckling and lonely,
Everyone watching the show,
Reduced to crawling. So slow.
The load is still there and heavy,
How long till it breaks the levy?
Then in the horizon,
Something that shouldn't be surprisin,
Not even a warning was there,
The path now goes up some stairs...
No.....no....
NOOOOOOO!
