The Snake among the Flowers
Under the branches of a cherry tree,
Bloom the pink petals,
And in their sweetness,
I discover a snake.
With shining scales,
It slithers among the flowers,
And I wonder,
How such a symbol of death,
Can coexist with beauty.
But then I realize,
That life is a balance,
And that even the most terrible creatures,
Have their place in the world.
And I remember,
That the cherry blossom only blooms
once a year,
And that death is necessary for life.
