Song of Spring.. Couplet Poem
Songs my soul yearns to sing,
I hear them when you visit in spring;
You keep chirping by my window sill,
I feel come alive the cold breeze still.
Oh come ye rest your feathered quills,
I know you've flown beyond the vales and hills;
Be afraid not to flutter your frilly skirts,
Wise say a little kindness never hurts.
Come tell me stories my heart once knew,
Of sunkissed hearths, of love so true;
Knoweth none what shall be morrow,
A dawn filled with thy songs sure shall ease my sorrow.
