Under the Neem Tree
When this sudden loneliness floods my heart,
And the ache spreads into my body like sickness bout,
Waves of despair, helplessness and forlorn in the mind,
As like a terribly sick kitten, in my bed I turn and turn around.
At last to pacify this volcanic erupting thoughts,
Every thought telling how alone life has become of soughs,
I wander into your shades, even though if it's from moon and stars,
For you have been the balm that has always covered and soothed my scars.
Since when I was eight, whenever I had incessantly wept,
My legs have run to your shades, and in your arms I have slept,
Your bitter leaves in the cool breeze had always kept me safe,
Spreading a soft bed as if it were my mother's embrace.
Now far from home, I miss no one so much,
As you, the bitter root, bark, branch and leaves,
Yet giving me fruits sweet and memories of soothing days,
Yes, you are my confidant and only friends my dear Neem Tree.
