You were my heartbeat,
I was your life.
Together we vowed to be even in the afterlife.
Our affection so sweet none and nothing could defeat.

I was your joy,
You were my happiness.
Together,we wiped each other's tears.
Hand in hand, we put smiles on our faces.

You were my future,
I was your forever.
Our story none and nothing could alter.
Through thick and thin, love and understanding were our armour.

Now, we are each other's past.
Sadly, we have drifted apart.
A dream come true we were.
Until then it's goodbye.
