In halls of grandeur, where elites reside,
A token invitation, a performative pride.
Black musicians summoned, talents on display,
For fleeting moments, their worth conveyed.


Their melodies enchant, a temporary reprieve,
From systemic chains, their souls still grieve.
White hands applaud, faces aglow,
Yet, in the shadows, segregation grows.
