Enchiridion: Scene 1

Life is a maze,
So much crazy, it's insane
Greed in plenty is foolish,
Hate is foolish,
Malevolence is arrogance at play,
Wars are beyond foolish,
A small window of good but that little is enough,
All is taxing.
There is little worth keep,
Yet everything is owned,
Death is the only certainty,
Everything else is a play, a show,
In which I wanted to partake.
Love is frail, like catching sand through a sieve,
If you're lucky, you can have plenty to give,
Plenty to keep, that's everybody's dream.
The world was never our's to keep,
The hereafter, draped in golden tones,
A crown of thorns, a crown of gold,
In my heart, I long after that shiny road.
