REFLECTIONS IN THE SANDS

I am gazing out upon the oceans blue
While my thoughts are pure and ever true
Here I stand with my back to such barren lands
Harboring feelings of hope upon these warm sands
You may question why I turn hence beyond the earth
Indeed the answer is that we have all sidelined its true worth
Many moons gone and countless twinkles by those stars above
Our friends and families have each revealed what we are made of
When our greedy hearts and grasping hands have been the norm
Sour wounds and scarred deeps are thence things that thus form
So here I stand true pleading we become humane caregivers
Loving our Earth better just like the flowing of rivers
