You were there with me
At my house
In the kitchen
At the stove
Me arranging flowers
Into a bouquet
You rested your head on my shoulder
The look of shock
On the the other
The laughter behind
They didn't know
They thought we were a joke
Then too close you came
So I shoved you a bit

Later you got up to ask the other two girls about their flower arrangements
One saying she used Baby's-Breath (the Flower)
The other just loving the attention,
The attention you gave her
So willing to leave me there
Alone
With eyes of another staring back at me
Wishing to be mine

Then you were gone again
I couldn't find you anywhere
Looking in every room
Not finding you
Then upon last look
There you were
Playing hide and seek
You were
I had found you
But this isn't what I wanted
I should have hid and let you seek me out
Since we weren't together anymore
You were already gone
And even before
You would rather be with them than me
The one you claimed you love
The one you claimed to cherish

But instead I'd wake up thinking you were there
And realize it had all been a dream,
A dream
But not far from the very truth
