I TOOK HER LOVE FOR GRANTED
I would love her,
If only I knew how.
I would cherish her ,
If only I gave thoughts to not myself alone.
She poured out herself
At my feet in total submission.
Her eyes piercing through my soul ,
Such adoration and profound humility.
She kept waiting for me to love her too
As hard as her heart beats for me .
I wasn't oblivious
I was being careful
For reasons that wouldn't be worthy.

Her eyes had become tired.
They quiz me, waiting, hoping for
A reply that would return
The magic in her soul.
Slowly, it fizzled out.
Only coldness stared back .
With fear I stretch a willing hand,
Too late, my hands dropped not held.
I had taken her love for granted
And now I feel the light may be
Extungushed forever.
