Am I Here?
In a room full of people, they say
Who would you pick?
Will it be your friends?
Will it be your family?

In a room full of people, I say
I wouldn’t be able to choose.
They are all so important
That I can never have a favourite.

Although I fear they don’t feel the same.
My mum would pick my dad.
My friends would pick each other.
Even my Nan would choose a grave.

If I was to stand in a room,
They would all walk past
Like I wasn’t there
Just a shadow on the wall

Sounds would travel right through me,
The ghost of conversation, my new name
Floating in the edge of their lives
Insignificant until they need something
