My life is an open book,
That led me through every nook,
And every corner of discovery,
Of life's long journey

The tale started out dark and stormy.
Life was full of chaos for me.
I had to learn very young to fight,
and learned all about crying myself to sleep at night.

As a teen I made so many mistakes
so many things I wish would get a retake.
Met a guy that I thought was my safe place
Little did I know how he would hurt me daily without ever leaving a trace.

One day I finally woke up strong
told him no longer would he do me wrong.
Took my little boy and started over my life.
Now I am not going to lie and say theres since been no strife.
Troubles have come and gone
but I learned I will always be strong
because I am creating a good story for my son.

So if your book is quite like mine
early chapters filled with abuse and pain
please always remember it's yours to change
create your own story, you'll be just fine.
