he asks me if i've been eating right
i tell him that i'm staying at my mom's and i just had lunch with him

he tries again but i change the subject

cause i won't tell him that, actually, i've been feeding only off the words i've never had the guts to say
and feeding my fears to the point of being consumed by them
till there's nothing left but my body
overflowing with emptiness

i'm slippery enough so that he doesn't notice that i never lied but didn't answer his question either
and i finish just like i started
