The Beholder
If 'beauty is in the eye of the Beholder'
Then I must be blind,
Because the beauty other see in me
Is too difficult to find.
I stood in the bathroom,
Impatiently examining my face,
But I saw something so hideous
It had to be a disgrace.
I began to wonder, think and ponder
about what others see
Is there something missing that
I am struggling to find it in me.
It hit me
Like board hit by a dart.
The beauty isn't found on my body
But in my heart.
Then I must be blind,
Because the beauty other see in me
Is too difficult to find.
I stood in the bathroom,
Impatiently examining my face,
But I saw something so hideous
It had to be a disgrace.
I began to wonder, think and ponder
about what others see
Is there something missing that
I am struggling to find it in me.
It hit me
Like board hit by a dart.
The beauty isn't found on my body
But in my heart.
