two little birds
this is a story about two little birds
who are forced to keep their story unheard
one quite frail with legs so lean
the other's a little larger with the eyes of ivy-green
they met when they were young
just barely hatched
when they came across each other in the forest thatch
from then on they were side-by-side
how sad that their love they had to hide
the gentle bigger bird was often made to cry
by the other who said that passion was a lie
all night in the quiet they shared a nest
and comforting his beloved this by smaller tried his best
he sighed softly as he nuggled close
no matter what they said
it was each other they loved most
why can't we love birds of another kind
neather had the answer as the sun rise. behind
together they'd fly through the trees and the bush
trying not to touch wings, at least not that much
the days wore by and the birds almost broke
under the pressure of pretending and being told "no"
but they peered each others featherless, touching beaks
saying "hold on..... stay for me please"
all credit goes to @olivia_sorresso. I don't think she's on this app. I just got the poem off of Google and her @ was on it 😭😂
thanks for reading this
piece 😁✌️
