An autumn leaf, as it drifts down to join the earth,
Without a care in the world, embracing its worth.
Willing to release, to let go and be free,
A final surrender from the arms of its tree.

But some resist, held by the fear of regret,
Clinging tightly to what hasn’t left yet.
Like the autumn leaf, dry and worn,
They too wither, by time and life...
