Breaking point
On a mountain top we stand,
Legs anchored in the snow, not snow.
Deep breaths,
No air,
Have to move on.

Take a step and feel the weight.
The world at your back.
Crack–
Shift your weight and try again.

Knives cut your face, the air suffocating you.
One more step, more weight.
Crack–
Your legs give way.

Your mind bends under pressure
While your body suffers in the cold.
Get back up and try again.
Snap–

Down you go flying so free,
The weight of the world let go.
But done is the damage
And broken you emerge.

For mountainous pressure
Was too much to bear.
