the battle of self acceptance
I dread to face the world today
Not looking forward, come what may
But in this solace, I find grace
A respite from the human race
I love this solitude so dear
Though my attitude seems austere
I know I need to socialize
But I don't fit their narrow size
Insecurities loom, they may judge me
My life seems glum, but I refuse to be
A people-pleaser, happiness comes at a cost
Toxicity and negativity, a disease that exhausts
Failures may come, I'm well aware
But hunger for success won't spare
So let me revel in this peace,
Before life's chaos does increase.
