Standing at the edge of reality and disbelief,
A broken soul shivers deep,
Was torn and shattered on the reef,
Washed upon the shore in a heap.
Barley breathing; covered in sand.
I decided not to stay,
That life kept us so bland.
The act we portrayed left me to decay.
I saw it in your eyes, despair.
A storm brewing behind them,
Nothing to hide; completely bare.
No longer a precious gem.
Thought I knew what side I was on,
Your control kept me in this illusion.
Fell hard for the con.
Faded away by delusion.
The ocean was calling my name,
So I jumped, that's why,
Now there isn't anyone to blame,
I'd rather roll the dice and possibly die.
It was never enough; your love,
Felt so empty; rotting like an apple core,
Exceeded expectations; staring up above,
Another chance to soar.
