Being a black man living in the States
I'm used to the racism & dealing with hate
the color of my skin, they say is a threat
America deep down doesn't have any regrets.
Black men like me who deal with oppression
we deal with hate and so much aggression
being disowned by family and friends
the oppression happens again and again.
I'm a black man struggling each & everyday
yet America hates the things I wanna say
it's the truth they try to call as a threat
America these days has a dangerous mindset.
A black man like me they'll shoot to kill
seeing our pain makes them feel fulfilled
my brothers and sisters are lynched to a tree
yet America lied when they said we were free.
