Philomela's Song
This night, like the frivolous ending of a fairytale, covered the forest into a starry blanket.
The fireflies gathered around me today to listen to yet another melody of grief.
I know you've heard my cries,
I know you passed by,
but refused to listen.
Perhaps, me voicing my silence has become a monotone you dislike.
Or have I been singing the same song all these years?
Let me be silent then.
I'll stay here, among the fireflies;
Singing and sighing silently,
as always,
amidst these woods;
Away from your world,
which silenced my voice.
