A friendship that was yours and mine
giving my life so much peace & sunshine
we were friends & great lovers as well
together, we had a great story to tell.
But then we broke up & stayed good friends
until you died and we made amends
I saw in you my friend & my mate
someone who told me to be really great.
It took me a while to get over your death
again and again, I fought for my breath
a friend of mine who was always so kind
what I'll miss most is your amazing mind.
I'm saying goodbye to someone I knew
there would be days I'd feel so blue
an amazing lover and friend to me
I looked in your eyes and I just wasn't free.
