Sundown
I waited endlessly to welcome it,
Awoken to an unsteady heart beat
Thumping off pitch there in my chest,
Creating lonesome sounds of regret
I scurry to the curtains now and then,
Searching for a spec of day light
Disappointment is now the new black,
It's the color I put on, most of the time
The night obviously doesn't have an end,
Restarting from the dusks quicksave
Reliving each dreaded moment again,
I've got my freedom, yet still encaged
What's worse is spending it alone,
The awareness of the voided dark
The murked space being all that matters,
With no breach, the length of the strife lasts
With silence, aurora kicks in to drive,
The night, so dogged to hand me downs
Reinstated by thoughts hard to be erased,
Tonight won't pass cause I'm sundown.
