And I run to the dining table again,
Service messages again,
I do not want to renew my data bundle again.

Candles lit,
wine on the table,
Fancy dinner,
I was set,
This was the perfect one.
I knew it was.

He said he'll be home at 7,
it's ten pm.
I'm panicking,
He forgot again,
I bought this dress just for this night.
Eleven pm, he walks in
You shouldn't have stayed up, he said.

We planned this night two weeks ago,
I reminded you about this night yesterday,
I sent you a text about this night this morning.

All I ask is to be seen,
Appreciate my being.
I do not want the gold and diamonds
Give me back the love I give,
Remember the dinners we plan.
I'm your partner,
Not another one of your fancy furniture.
