A Girl Who’s Me
When I look at myself in the mirror,
I can see my reflection
looking back
What do I see, you ask?
I see a girl who’s eyes have cried
the most tears in her life.
A girl who’s ears have heard the most
yelling,
screaming,
crying,
and hurtful words
she could never forget.
A girl who’s arm has lines of
scars from the scratches she placed
from the pain she felt that day.
She’s a girl who has been through
a lot her whole life.
I look at myself in the mirror
studying
my face,
my eyes,
and my ears,
Then finally, I look at my arm.
I start to realize how strong
I really am as I begin to cry
with happy tears from my eyes
As I smile at my own reflection.
