Death...what after?
Once I held a conversation with my cat.
My questions were replied to by myself
I asked "What will you do after this kitty?"
She replied," I will grow up."
"What after?"
"I will reproduce."
"What after?"
Silence hovered for a while.
And then someone said,"Death"
"What after?"
No one replied.
I wondered, "What after ?"
Will you be one of the thousand
Twinkling stars? - as our
Ancestors always thought -
And shower your blessings and look at me
From that distant land.
Or will your soul swim
Deeper than the oceans
And fly higher than the skies
In search of a new birth
And a new life.
Or will you be gone -
And gone forever to
Some unknown distant world -
Swearing never to look back,
Independent from all bonds,
Chains and pleasure of life.
I pondered about the certainity
Of plans we make about life.
But what follows 'Death'
Is utterly uncertain.
Whatever you do, my little kitty,
I promise to follow you,
To search the path which you pursue -
After fortune does the same to me
As it did to you.
