I had always struggled with my weight,
It was always more compared to my age,
Constantly heard that I was overweight,
Its effects were seen in my confidence,
Without anyone knowing I would cry,
And also go on random diets...

Came a day I decided enough is enough,
Just lose the damn weight, atleast for once,
So I hit the gym for the first time in 28 years,
Also hired a personal trainer,
The first six months were laborious,
Losing weight was my only purpose,
But I could not see any visible change,
Even though my body was constantly in pain...

Disappointed, I was about to give up,
Since the results were not as desired,
But then someone at work told me,
"Hey, you have lost weight it seems!"
I was all smile, and then I also realised,
I was wearing a dress that was earlier tight,
"When did it fit me?," I had no recollection,
In the mirror I saw my face had also shrunk..

This journey started with no expectations,
Many a times I also lost patience,
I finally saw the fruits of my hardwork,
My confidence returned without any effort,
The results had showed up,
The weight loss had finally begun...

Took me two years and eight months,
To come down to 53kg from seventy nine...
