I don't know you and you barely know me.

Everything I think is something you'll regret.
Everything I do is what you wish you could forget.

How does it feel to be the world's best successor.
I know how it feels to be the worst predecessor.

I wouldn't change me and I hope you wouldn't either.
Because if I were any different you might never be here.

I made you who you are and I am who you were.
The thought that I'd take you away from them is absurd.

I read and reread the notes you pretend never existed.
I wrote that thing that could be evidence you persisted.

It's hard to believe that I would take you away from myself.
It's hard to say I've fully put away those thoughts on the shelf.

You may be the thing that I used to believe I hated.
At the end of the day I am happy to say I'm still Aiden.
