Not because of money in the bank,
But because I have family who will go out of their way to see me happy.

But because I have lived to see African talents of my generation honoured on global stages.

Not because I have given out anything.
But because in my own way I have touched at least one life.

Not because of gold, diamonds or pearls,
But because of immeasurable commodities like laughter and health.


I can say I'm rich.
Not because I've been around the world,
But because I've been to several other worlds through beautiful melodies and sounds.

Not because I wake up in an air-conditioned room,
But because i wake up to the morning sun that reminds me of God's love.
