when the humid green
of jacaranda trees
and red hot skin
on a towel lays

Sickly green lawns
with sprinklers ticking
smoke from fire
and braai

in the
shade
of the soetdoring boom
the fruit of summer
drips over tiny hands

and a gory sight
of sticky smiles
and wet
towel wrapped bodies
