Over The Rainbow
Over the rainbow, was a world
Children freely roamed,
Laughing uncontrollably,
The wind blew steadily,
Whilst the bright sunrays fell upon the roofs.
But this was not to last,
The people watched in awe,
At the black tube, aiming for the surface.
In a second,
This world grew silent,
A light, symbolizing a thousand suns, exploding
Appeared out of the bright neon sky,
In a flash,
All was lost,
Nothing was left,
Except for the flames of helplessness.
Towns were altered to be unrecognizable,
Why do we fight?
Upon stupid rivalries?
That cost the lives of innocent citizens,
And the future of our mother?
But that was long ago,
Now we remain hopeful,
We pray,
We believe,
That the sadness,
The blanket of darkness,
The hour of death,
May never reveal himself again.
