Keep Pressing On
Tired, weary,helpless and bare
I come to you Lord, please incline thine ear.
To your daughter who is burdened, sad and alone,
In this empty, cold and sin-riddled world.
Full of selfishness, greed, hate and strife,
All I ever wanted was a peaceful and a happy life.
One of love, kindness, patience and grace,
Living only for you, and to see your face.
Eternal happiness is what I aspire,
But toiling daily only makes me perspire.
Oh how i long for a life of bliss,
One with family, dear friends, wow I may need to make a list.
There are so many things I need right now,
But I think it's best I thank you and solemnly bow.
As I raise my hands in praise for life most of all,
I thank you for keeping me, guiding me and sustaining me least I fall.
For the greater things in store that you are preparing me for,
I thank you for the opportunities that lie ahead and for opening many doors.
Keep me sane and keep my patient,
Keep me faithful and forever grateful.
For knowing that only you I can depend on
When the cloudy skies are gone
You keep saying to me, my child keep pressing on.
