Birthdays are a moment to ponder
Times of deep reflections they are
Much more than the merriment
More than the excitement
Beyond the birthday wishes
Are the silent reflections
What have you done so far
Who can attest to your impact
To whom has your goodness been revealed.
Beyond the swimming pool
Aside from dishes such cool
Beyond drinks refreshing
And babes mesmerizing
Reflect, thou young man
Lady, please reflect
Your life is not just about you
You need not stand by the pew;
To make maximum impact
Your good acts untold
Will one day unfold
And then on every birthday
You will appreciate living
For your life will be a blessing
A blessing to all and sundry
And propelled will you be
Charged up for another phase
These things I write
Neglecting symphony and synchrony;
That you may reflect!
