Red lanterns float high up in the sky, the wind chimes ring,
In the dark alley where me and my brother sing.

Oh! these beautiful memories filling up my mind,
Everything plays up in my head in rewind.

Oh! those dragonflies flying up to my head,
Oh! those moments when I am laid up sick in my bed.

Will those memories fade away as time flows by?
To those moments, do I have to say goodbye?

A new year has come, let's start a new,
My affection to the future grew.

Day by day, I am liking the new things,
Sometimes me & my friends act in a drama as queens and kings.

But the dark alley is left alone as no one is there to sing.

My brother has left for the military,
His not coming isn't ordinary.

Everyday and every night, I prayed for him to come back,
What if he was attacked!?

Months turned into year, a new year has come again,
But in my heart dwells the same pain.

I burst all the crackers, I lit all the lanterns but there is lonliness that nothing can occupy,
Some letter came today telling my brother has died!

Oh,my lonely new year...here I come,
Losing my friends and my brother making my self look so dumb.

Hello! my dear new year,
Let's everything from the beginning by hiding all of my painful tears.
