With her heart beating rapidly,
She opened her eyes to the darkness that surrounds her,
And was grateful for the light that shines from her window.

She wished there was someone to keep her calm,
Someone who will just tell her to keep on breathing,
And that someone to smile at her.

She saw her reflection in the mirror on the wall,
That is when it dawned on her that she has only herself to hold on to,
That she has to keep herself from fading.
