Ping Pong
I've always envied them
Those who can unwind, rewind, stop time, love time
Those ping pong players
Burdened with little cares
A dollar or two to their names
Bothered not about tomorrow
Focused on the pleasures of today
On the way from my nine to five
I often glance
At their small terraces
Sun kissed faces
Pad clasped hands
Ball bouncing back and forth
Evening tired satisfied smiles all round
They play ping pong
I play the pawn
In this game of chess called life.
