The Seven Deadly Sins
I'm gonna tell you a story tonight
Of the Seven Deadly Sins,
So children, grab a chair and sit down now
And listen to me if you will.
There was once a family of eleven:
Four parents and seven children,
And gods, what a terrific combination it was
That it scared even the heavens!
Pride came first, the eldest of all
She always had been mean as a little girl,
She thought everyone was inferior to her so she
Looked down upon the world.
Then came Wrath, with a head of fire
Everything angered him.
You never want to make him fight
He's always boiling at the brim.
Next was Greed, always unsatisfied
She wanted every little thing,
Everything had to be hers--
From a big, huge house for he costliest ring.
Lust was in the middle, cool and calm
A seductress at her best,
A snap if her fingers and you'll be at her knees
And forget everything else.
After her was Gluttony, pampered and spoiled
He had all that he wanted to eat:
So he ate and ate and ate and ate
And didn't even stop to drink.
Sloth was next, lazy as hell.
She didn't want to do anything.
So she kept a lot of servants
So whatever she needed they could bring.
Envy was the youngest, the ruby of the pack
And he was ignored by all.
He envied others and detested himself
Why did he have to be so small?
So, people, there you are.
The Seven Deadly Sins.
They still live in this world today
That no one could ever cleanse.
But wait! There's a question yet
Why didn't you remind me before?
We started with eleven, there goes seven,
What happened to the other four?
Oh, yes. You need to know:
The people who raised the Sins
Were none other than whom we know today
As the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.
