old pair of shoes
if there's a story
to tell about someone...

Sometimes just look at their shoes .
they might be in dismay,
is there a story to convey
about the journey in life that they choose.

I do know of one
who's shoes carried a load
much larger than any in life.
that's been through more,
and weathered the storm
They Carried him to sacrifice.

..................

I'll never forget
the shoes he wore
the journey he had made
They Carried him
though he carried many
a decision we'll all have to make.....

--------------------
I'm worn and tattered
like my old leather shoes
creases, wrinkles and cracks
that are all but untrue

the journey I made
that encompasses life
shows all of my love,
my passion, my strife.
it wasn't a straight
road not truly unfair
to what be the journey
without the hardships we bare.

I look at my soles
on the bottom I see
the mountains, The Valleys I've climbed the times I had fallen
but got up and survived.

they've been in such Dark Places
where light is just not there,
to depth in darkness
Blackness, despair.

or through the woods tripping on every branch
getting back up on my knees.
but then bending my legs,
to push myself up
sometimes not the greatest of ease.

not to worry, I say
I'll follow my shoes
to wherever I must go.
never being in doubt ,
or afraid of the reins that lead me, through all the ins and the outs .

my laces are frayed
cut, or broken then notted and tied
shows the Assembly of strength
to carry on no matter my vie.

through murky Waters
some black some blue
with depths unknown to the mind
some of it ocean, some just swamp
no matter..
my true one, he walked on top...

no wonder why
men keep around,
some of their old useless shoes.
I guess they could,
bring back memories
about a favored Journey or two.
no matter the smell,
or how they now look
we just dust them off or give them a shook.
I must admit
without question I dare
from the memories that it brings
I really love the shoes I wear
no matter the questioning.

if my pair could talk
this old worn-out shoe,
it'd say I know we've been through
a rough step or two
but don't worry my friend
as long as you're willing to spend
I'll be sure to always carry you

and if anyone ever had something to say I'd rather them keep their mouth closed for until they walked a mile in my shoes they'll never know what I know.
