Two Little Bears
In my garden beneath a blossum tree
Played two little bears so full of glee
In turns they swung on an old rope swing
And sung to the music of the blue birds sing
In flew a red Robin to watch them play
They listened to the thrush who sang all day
A butterfly came to play with the flowers
The little bears swung for hours and hours

The beauty of blossum has blown far away
Winds wail to urge pritty flowers to decay
The song of the thrush fades in icy frost
The allure of butterfly to winter is lost
Shelter and hunger perilous life on the edge
Frail blue tits shiver in hide and in hedge
Red Robin for winters storm has few cares
How often I wonder what became of the bears

Neath frozen sod sleep ghosts of spring
Abundant miracles in slumber dream
Timeless stories sparks of creation retold
Buds bursting colours unformed to unfold
Larva with butterfly dance a waltz wait
For warmth gentle touch fresh life to awake
Echoes of love song smoulder in birds
Ti'll chorus of music flames beyond words
Love of resurrection red Robin shares
Did I glimpse in the gloaming two little bears
