mine to take
I owe everyone an apology.

I thought my cup was empty and unable to pour.

I was so busy writing my eulogy,

I shunned the love washing up on my shore.

Thank you God for the epiphany:

It's mine to take, I didn't realize before.

I'm sorry, my cup was never empty.

I'm raising my anchor and heading ashore.

Much like those that lifted me; saved me from drowning at sea.

I'll collect what I need and then some more,

So I can share the love you've all been pouring into me.

Even though I'm still not whole, I have my advocates - raising me up more and more and more.

Until I reach whatever it is, the remedy.

For now I'll stand tall, held up by hands and raising my own, you'll hear us roar

Inviting you to join us in converting the greedy,

So we can give and give and give some more.
