I used to be extroverted
I used to talk to everyone
Without hesitation
Or fear of what they thought
And for awhile things were fine
Until they started telling me
"Shut up, no one cares"
"You're annoying"
"How about you just shut your mouth"
"Who cares?"
"So what?"
And then my life changed
I became invisible
People forgot I was there
I was more of an object,
Or just a pair of eyes and ears
Nothing more than silence
Listening and watching
Observing the world
Because of the things I was told,
Because I started hating myself
Thanks to all of the things
People told me
That caused me to be silenced
Forever
