Only to reject them in an instant
We crave understanding
But push it away forcefully

It's a strange dance we do
Wanting to know, yet fearing the truth
We seek clarity
But run from the answers we find

Perhaps it's the fear of change
Or the discomfort of uncertainty
That makes us turn away
From the very thing we seek

So we ask for explanations
And then promptly dismiss them
Preferring the comfort of ignorance
Over the challenge of understanding

But deep down we know
That true growth comes from embracing
The truths that we uncover
Even if they're hard to swallow

So let's be brave
And face the explanations head on
For only then can we truly grow
And become the people we are meant to be.
