Snowflakes and the Storm
Forcing laughter at empty phrases,
Doing nothing as the gap continues to grow.
Drops from the storm escape my eyes as my memory erases,
Moments that are now lost, melting away like snow.
Whenever I feel us drift further apart,
I reminisce in the crystalline caves from our frozen past.
Reflecting patterns of beauty and grace,
Flowing through my memories lightly,
A stark contrast to the thoughts i face.
I always reach out to hold them, picturing our memories as a smile pulls on my mouth,
Cherishing what remains before it all begins to fade out.
I watch it fall apart and contort,
Losing its shape and its form,
I gently cradle them in their final moments,
As I remind myself I have to let you go.
