The Only Truth
I hear many words from mankind
I see many things and also nothing.
Who do we trust when we are blind?
Who can hear when they are bluffing?

From the moment we are born,
we unknowingly are told untruths.
From birth to the day we mourn,
Lies told even when we were youths.

Life is a challenging passage of time,
Where words or silence hide the truth.
Not all of us are guilty of this crime,
Some innocent until long in the tooth.

For me, the only truth I can trust,
is the look I get from my dogs eyes.
The look of love that is not unjust,
With trust that's so hard to disguise.
