My Last Kitten
'Twas a sunny morrow, a pet broker arrived,
To sell varied breeds of cats and dogs, he tried.
Here, I recite a tale of my kitty pet,
Though she's dead; that was my last asset;
My last kitty Meow in the hall,
Inside the photo frame, hanged on the wall.
Look at her - lovely, calm, virtuous face,
She's smiling with an adorable grace.
Tho' those great brown eyes glitter'd always,
It seem'd as if they were fill'd with tears all days.
Thou keep thine pets aside;
How could I buy them, my Meow hath died?
Tis is the last picture of my pretty...
