message in a letter
#WritcoPoemChallenge
As far as a letter goes,
It was nondescript,
The message it carried was sinister
Yet it holds the truth behind a closed door,
Ask yourself,
Why there was a blood without a crime,
A beat of death without a body,
And a dreadful cry without a soul,
Have you met your loved one?
Have they found a way home?
Or is it their name?
Penned on the letter?
Don't shed a tear,
They feed on your fear,
Don't close your eyes,
In the dark they'll rise,
Leave your footprint,
For your kids to exist,
When the sun is bright,
It won't blind your sight,
And so the letter goes,
Inside you'll find a rose,
But don't let it fool you,
As its thorns will fail you.
