Villainy

Let’s go back to the era when the darkness was sought,
The first time in ourselves when light and darkness had fought!
For Shakespearean plays taught all to perceive-
How do we put it into practice ? how do we achieve?
He was taught the villainy: He is the inevitable villain.
He is none other than Shylock again!

We find him amidst the dark;
Whenever there is light, he’s there with a spark.
Have we ever wondered who taught Him villainy?
“He is a villain by birth!”who can give its assurity?
The person lost his wife without a cost.
She somehow haunted his life like a ghost!

His ‘dearest’ girl betrayed him:
She thought, ”father , my foot!I have got to live my dream.”
Throughout his lifehe received the spits and kicks of the”Shrewd merchant”.
Nether had he got to rest his head against his tears, nor to faint.
Scorned at his gains-
And thwarted at his bargains,
The poor Jew was like a panting dog,
Everywhere he found darkness amidst the fog.

Even now will you call him a mastermind?
Or will you praise him for bearing with the scorns of the dirty mind?
It takes years to turn into a villain:
He tries to make it clear to all but in vain.

When you hate and call and call “A VILLAIN”,
Think of the past when he was like all other men!
You will get to know the mask that the antagonist wears,
Ironically he’s got all men beside him who cheer.
