Father
I was raised by a man who’s flawed by design
Word so insensitive that your heart would resign
But those words, he said not to break us but refine
His painful words became a lesson and in my life they align

This man you’ll see so tough and mighty
You’d never believe he raised me, a girl spoiled and bratty

Supportive and attentive
Loving and caring
Responsible and admirable
These traits are his
And I tell you it is

There’s so much to say
But words would not lay
So with thank you, I’ll begin
To your sacrifice, effort, and hardship, I’m thankful, I’ve always been

Life is hard and is as strong as a wall
But you never failed to give us your all
You corrected us when we were in wrong
Motivated us so we could be strong
Disciplined us and so much more that the list is so long

For the pain we’ve caused, there’s nothing I can say
If sorry was enough I’d say it every day
But it’s pointless now for the pain has lay
But, still, I’ll apologize for all the pain

This man is both mature and immature
Who laughs and jokes like it’s his nature
This man is like no other
And I’m proud to say he’s my father.
