or giving up this time

you laugh
a little bit too loudly
in disbelief

because how can you
believe me
when our calander is packed

i want to lie
say it has been easy
that this hasn't been a battle

but my brain is shattered
fragments of memories
full of past torment

cloud my judgement
erase the stable line
between now and then

if it weren't for the look
soft in those comforting eyes
i would have already crumbled

a lot to put on someone
but it is all i have
you need to understand

i want to be someone
who makes you proud
who makes you smile

so in this moment
i am trying to hold on tight
fighting to survive-

it is the only answer
of valid reason
to continue on
